Let's Be Fancy

Hi, lovelies!
Last Saturday, we finally crossed something off our college bucket list -- go to a vineyard! It's been something we've been meaning to do for a while, but matching up five different schedules is not easy (five being K& E, along with E's three roommates).

We started off with a full tasting and discovered a few things:

• Dry wine is bleck!
• E is a big fan of white wine over red (we kinda already knew this).
• Everyone else enjoys red wine.
• We tried a very sweet dessert wine (with still 11% alcohol) and it was delicious. But one whole glass might be a little too much -- that's how sweet...
• We learned more, but I'll leave out the boring and just share some photos from the trip.

And then we went to the mall....

Behind the Name

We won't lie, coming up with a name for the blog was a process. We went from one corny name to another until we ultimately settled with The 20th Key...which is still somewhat corny, but we somehow ended up loving the sound of it more and more.

After a few concerns with our previous names, Karen wanted to incorporate both of our initials. She came up with the word, "key." The first two letters are self-explanatory and while our middle names are not important, you could only guess what the initial of both our middle names are (y!). Once she proposed this idea to me, we could not let go of the idea of using this word.

It took a bit more time to think of what could accommodate the word in a non-overly-cheesy, but relevant, way until I suggested a number. We are both new to the twenties (no more bittersweet teen life) and we figured we ultimately created this blog to document throughout the next few years. The twenties bring an age of growth and reality, but also an age to have the most fun. We hope to come back in the future and reflect on ourselves through this blog, whether we laugh at ourselves or just simply reminisce.

We think the name has a subtly cheesy, but truly meaningful kick to it!
