Hiatus

Happy hump day, lovelies!

K has been trying to get me to update a post for the past two months and I am so sorry to have been on this hiatus. It's been a hell of a senior year with schoolwork piling up more than I expected, BUT I won't lie, I have also been straight up lazy.

This doesn't mean I've been neglecting this blog entirely; I have put in a lot of thought (during the moments I could have just been simply updating) about what kind of posts I wanted to be posting about and what type of target audience we'd like to attract. To be honest, I haven't even seen K in a while and it's been some time since we've been able to sit and talk. This will change soon since we are graduating in about 3 and a half weeks! (CRAZY) and K will be returning back to her homeland (ultra sad face). We don't have much time left together and our weekends seem to be filling up quickly since we have a college bucket list of things to do. Can I also note that I've literally only done 5 out of a million things on that list? PATHETIC! I am the worst senior ever.

There is no main focus here. I wanted to make it a mix of updating my life (but I don't really think I can fit over two months of life into one post) and talking about where our life is heading: to the real world. My cap & gown is hanging in my closet and it is surreal. K also shared a significant moment with me and watched me accept my first full-time job offer post-grad! Woohoo--but...

E's Back ...with SANGRIAS!

I'm baaaack!

So, a lot has happened in the past month and a half. It actually feels like the last time I updated was half a year ago. Not to mention, it is now 2014 (happy belated new year!) Throughout my entire life, I've been told this and that about college; how it's gonna be the best four years of your life, the friends you meet during those years will be the friends that typically stay in your life, etc. But no one ever emphasized how fast those four years will fly by. I still can't believe 2013 is over. I can't even believe 2012 and 2011 are already in the past.

"Who's packing your parachute?"

Hope everyone's week has been great - almost Friday, yay! (Also the beginning of finals, boo..) This is a little outside of what I wanted to cover in terms of posting on this blog, but this is a little something I appreciated from my Human Resources class. From time to time, my professor hands us articles to reflect on and write a reaction paper to. Most of them are typically related to Human Resources, but he decided to throw this one in and I'm glad he did. It's about a page-long read, not long, worth it! I wanted to share this with whoever takes their time to actually read this blog.

E's Fall Haul 2013: Beauty & Make-Up Products

HI, AGAIN! And happy December!

Sorry for the hiatus; I have been swamped with my senior capstone project this past month and a half. It's a year-long project, but this semester's hard part is finally over! (Now for finals...)

Anyways, before finals week officially kicks in, I decided to gather up some of my fall purchases starting from the beginning of this semester. I am currently unemployed for the semester, but thankfully getting through life thanks to my parents. All this time, I thought I had been doing a good job not spending money on personal shopping, but wow, it's racked up a bit more than I imagined. And let's not forget about the damages from Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Oops...

Since I don't want this post to get obnoxiously long, I'm going to split my haul posts into 3 parts: Beauty & Make-Up Products, Apparel & Shoes, and Accessories.

WARNING: This is still a fairly long post, but hope you all enjoy!
Also, DISCLAIMER: These haul posts from Karen and I are not intended to brag about our purchases, but simply to share and review products we decided to try out. I'm also in the process of organizing my "style" (if that makes any sense) and renewing my closet; out with the old and in with the new!

Inspired by K

Revlon's "Plum Velour"

Happy hump day, all!
I had a bit of a hard time deciding what to write about for my first post. I took the easy way out and got some inspiration from right here on our blog! I'm taking Karen's advice and indulging in the things I love. I don't know what it is about this season, but I am currently obsessed with everything burgundy, wine, plum and the sort. I'm not a big lipstick kinda person, but as you can see, lipstick is one of those everything's I wanted in a wine/plum color and I finally got one last night! I also don't plan to stop there.

I am on a fierce hunt for a big burgundy knit sweater and a big, cozy burgundy scarf (more for the winter). I'd also like to invest in a perfect pair of cognac leather boots before the season flies by (I swear, where we live, we have no seasonal transitions!).

Before I get carried away with some sort of "wish list," here is what I am currently indulging in:

  • My recently-purchased Camelbak full of water, water, water. Everyday.
  • Pumpkin Spice Lattes
  • "Light Blue" by Dolce & Gabbana (this indulgence never gets old)
  • Like Karen, face masks (more so because my skin is at one of its worst right now; every girl's nightmare)

I've recently noticed my wardrobe hasn't been in much favor of fall, which is why there is so much on my mind when I feel the need to shop. Indulging in what you love is great; it keeps us going. But it's a part of growing up to realize that you also have to satisfy yourself with the things you are already blessed with, be grateful and do not get carried away with wanting more and more (aka do not grow a shopping addiction!!)...at least that's what I need to tell myself.
