Let's Be Fancy

Hi, lovelies!
Last Saturday, we finally crossed something off our college bucket list -- go to a vineyard! It's been something we've been meaning to do for a while, but matching up five different schedules is not easy (five being K& E, along with E's three roommates).

We started off with a full tasting and discovered a few things:

• Dry wine is bleck!
• E is a big fan of white wine over red (we kinda already knew this).
• Everyone else enjoys red wine.
• We tried a very sweet dessert wine (with still 11% alcohol) and it was delicious. But one whole glass might be a little too much -- that's how sweet...
• We learned more, but I'll leave out the boring and just share some photos from the trip.

And then we went to the mall....

Hiatus

Happy hump day, lovelies!

K has been trying to get me to update a post for the past two months and I am so sorry to have been on this hiatus. It's been a hell of a senior year with schoolwork piling up more than I expected, BUT I won't lie, I have also been straight up lazy.

This doesn't mean I've been neglecting this blog entirely; I have put in a lot of thought (during the moments I could have just been simply updating) about what kind of posts I wanted to be posting about and what type of target audience we'd like to attract. To be honest, I haven't even seen K in a while and it's been some time since we've been able to sit and talk. This will change soon since we are graduating in about 3 and a half weeks! (CRAZY) and K will be returning back to her homeland (ultra sad face). We don't have much time left together and our weekends seem to be filling up quickly since we have a college bucket list of things to do. Can I also note that I've literally only done 5 out of a million things on that list? PATHETIC! I am the worst senior ever.

There is no main focus here. I wanted to make it a mix of updating my life (but I don't really think I can fit over two months of life into one post) and talking about where our life is heading: to the real world. My cap & gown is hanging in my closet and it is surreal. K also shared a significant moment with me and watched me accept my first full-time job offer post-grad! Woohoo--but...

K's Recent Purchases

This is a LONG OVERDUE post and I sincerely apologize! 

A lot of these purchases/gifts are from December (yikes). But better late than never, right?

My favorite month of the year is, December! Not only is it the holiday season but it's also my birthday month so I did some major shopping and was blessed with amazing gifts from friends and family. 

I used to use a Korean product. Innisfree "No- Sebum Mineral Powder" but ran out, so I made the decision to switch! My previous powder was loose powder and was messy and hard to use. This Nars pressed powder was the perfect switch! It's super convenient and leaves your skin matte and smooth. 

Birthday gift from Sephora! If you are a "beauty insider" Sephora gives you a birthday present. This month they are giving out the Benefit's "they're REAL!" mascara and the "watt's up!" highlighter. I've been using both products non-stop! They are a bit small, but they're perfect to carry around in a pouch for a quick-fix.  

 

 These booties definitely needed some wearing in to do but after a day of suffering, they are SUPER comfortable!

I've been wanting the ZARA origami skort for ages then ran into this beautiful skort at Forever 21 and instantly purchased it! The wonderful thing about it.. it was only $18.50

Also from Forever 21 is this crop top sweater. It's super soft and surprisingly warm. 

Birthday Gift from my beautiful friends! They said they were debating between a red one and this one, but I'm so glad they chose this one! It goes along well with any color and outfit and has a lot of pockets which is really convenient.   I hope everyone had a heart-filled  start to the month of February!

"Be Colorful"

These two words: Be Colorful, have really stuck with me throughout these past couple of weeks.  It got me thinking about a lot of things, and one of the things are: to love and embrace who you are. By who you are, I don't mean such things as demographics, but I mean every inch and centimeter that you consider you. The things you love, the things you find interesting, the things that make you happy.  I've always struggled with this weird idea that I had to 'fit' into a certain category, a stereotype. I now realize what a ridiculous and foolish thing this was. Embrace your differences, embrace the quirky little things about yourself that you would consider to be 'weird' or 'not normal'. Be colorful. 
I like drinking watered down coffee.  I love the smell of paint.  I sometimes like to layer socks, up to three at times.  I love the way my hair feels when I twirl it between my fingers. I love hip-hop but I also love classical music. 
(Acknowledging that this is online, and public, I don't want to become too vulnerable, just yet, so i'm not revealing too much)   But here's just some things that I love which some people may find weird, and some people may find completely normal. But I'm starting to realize that I'm gonna to embrace all of these. 
Because, to feel strongly about something is an amazing thing, and when this is something you like, it's extraordinary and magnificent.

I'm baaaack!

So, a lot has happened in the past month and a half. It actually feels like the last time I updated was half a year ago. Not to mention, it is now 2014 (happy belated new year!) Throughout my entire life, I've been told this and that about college; how it's gonna be the best four years of your life, the friends you meet during those years will be the friends that typically stay in your life, etc. But no one ever emphasized how fast those four years will fly by. I still can't believe 2013 is over. I can't even believe 2012 and 2011 are already in the past.

K's October Haul

I went a little crazy this month and splurged! My bank account is not too happy and left a little skinnier, but I'm a happy gal! I'll add a little review of how I like/dislike the products.

 

Currently my new obsession is this Oh, Lola! scent. I first discovered it on a Korean show (Get It Beauty) and apparently it's the #1 scent that guys love! (believe it or not). I decided to test it out, and instantly fell in love. I'm not a huge fan of floral scents but this one is the perfect mixture of a sweet and musky scent!
